TINAPICA - Turning Information iNto Action, Production, Installation, maintenanCe and Assembly - INDUSTRIA 2015 MSE

Study, development and testing of an innovative integrated IT platform to optimize the cycle of construction, installation and maintenance processes. 2D and 3D simulation of the activities and CBT for maintenance technicians and installers aircraft interiors and aircraft structural components.

 

The activities in the field of the general aviation represent a concrete reality, both in national field and International one, that has seen, in the years, the consolidation of the historical builders, those who made the general aviation (CESSNA, PIPER, BEECHCRAFT) and the birth and the development of new subjects (es.: Diamond Aircraft).

To preserve and develop this abundance of activities, it is necessary to start a continuous renewal of the products and a reduction of the costs of production and maintenance, without lower the standards of safety and reliability that makes the aeronautical sector an important example. These demands and requisites are more urgent in the Italian reality, that has the arduous assignment to compare with markets and builders of ampler breath and possibility.

In particular, the technical documentation to produce, both in aircrew field, with innumerable supports, both for all the parts that compose the structure of an aircraft, to purpose the supplying of a technicallogistics documentation that shows all the phases of the construction (planning, construction, maintenance), prompt different problem list for the industries, both in the pre-sale phase, that post-sale one.

This documentation takes, sideways, a fundamental role for persons involved in the work, on the other hand, introduces a series of problems that the IT, and hence the project TINAPICA, can give answer. Tons of documents, amenable continuous updates influencing considerably the phisycal dimensions of the same manual, the usury risk, that is the possibilità to not ensure the integrity of the contents, and mostly a difficult consultation is the main obstacle wherewith the project wants to face. A manual is divided in different books, chapters and sections, and it makes the search of information very difficult.

These problems make the production and the management of technical manuals very critical about the cycle of creation, consultation and updating, continually absorbing all the increasing costs.

The aim of TINAPICA program (Turing Information iNto Action, Production, Installation, maintenanCe and Assembly) is, then, the study, the development and the application of an innovative integrated software platform for the optimization of the contruction cycle, assembly and maintenance of works.

So, it is results strategic the adoption of the new technologies, edited to the combination among the Intelligent Training and Educational System and Maintenance Manual System, based on a middleware architecture able to produce and manage technical- logistic documents, according to standard recognized by the international community, guaranteeing functionality of multimodal fluidity, in the context of the evolved services for the activities of ordinary and extraordinary maintenance. This combination makes possible the idea to offer:  a system of training and on-line consultation, based on S1000D and SCORM  a system of on-line maintenance of the handbook one, that guarantees services of updating, of FTA (Fault Tree Analysis) and references to Advisory Circular (AC).

 

 

TINAPICA mainly derives from the experiences of the proposers carrier and owner of qualified skills and work managing or taking part as leading actors in a relevant part of the spinneret of design and production of aircrafts and aeronautic components.

The latter is the case of Geven that operates directly – for instance as first level supplier of the best customers, that is Alenia Aeronautica, Airbus, Boeing etc. – in the supply chain of the trade aircrafts’ production. Conversely Tecnam, manages its supply chain of the aircrafts designed and producted by itself. Both these subjects work by working methodologies strongly addressed to productive integration and of design’s cycles of products. GEVEN will coordinate and direct the Program of Industrial Innovation TINAPICA and jointly with TECNAM will provide the partnership with the know how and the experience become mature in the years.

The architecture of the software platform in the proposed system, wants mainly referring to the support of two macro functional targets, that is: consultation/training on-line of the technical-logistics manual contents of support to the design, build and maintenance; on-line maintenance of the manuals. The achievement of these targets is to understand comply with the standards introduced by Department of USA Defence, for the carrying out of systems Interactive Electronic Technical Manual based, for the sharing and publishing of the information.

The final target is the achievement of a SOA (Service-oriented Architecture) Architecture, allowing an intensive interaction among services in order to and towards the industry deciding to use it, the innovative technologies proposed for the support of the aim enable to the supply of advanced services and assign to the platform strategic strength points such as: flexibility and scalability useful to accomplish the fundamental requirement of such system that is, the longevity of the its cycle of life.

The set of the Industries and Research Institutes that make the program, cover all the range of tecnichalscientific skills and know-how necessary to achieve the targets of the system’s project in the way pointed out and performed by the achievement of a working prototype.

The innovative technologies proposed within this project can give a strong push not only for the industry deciding to introduce such system in its build process, but also for all the activities involved, achieving, sideways, a new Italian win in the technologic confrontation, on the other hand, advantages in employment terms inside to the consortium’s partners.

The trade benefits will be properly depicted in the suitable section, anyway, let us emphasize as the buy and the efforts that the project wants to achieve will have an impact in terms of contribution to the standardization of new methodologies and then to their spread, making the industry operating on the local and national territory more competitive and on line with the requested performances at European level.
